COVID-19 is a highly infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. It was first identified in Wuhan, China in 2019 and has since spread globally, causing a pandemic. Symptoms of COVID-19 can range from mild to severe and can include fever, cough, shortness of breath, and loss of taste or smell. The virus primarily spreads through respiratory droplets when an infected person talks, coughs, or sneezes. It can also spread by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching one’s mouth, nose, or eyes.
